Man dies after going missing in Murrumbidgee River at Kambah Rock Pool in Canberra's south

A 75-year-old man has been found dead after going missing in the Murrumbidgee River at Kambah Rock Pool in Canberra's south.

ACT Policing were called to the scene about 12.30pm on Saturday following reports the man had disappeared while in the water at the popular swimming spot.

ACT Policing, ACT Ambulance Service, ACT State Emergency Service and Australian Federal Police teams all attended the scene.

Police divers and a helicopter were also deployed to search for the man.

The man's death was confirmed by police at 4:00pm after his body was discovered about 3:00pm.
